Today’s love story on How We Met is about the idea of love. Here it goes:
Most people think that nerds and football jocks are just not into anything that is even remotely romantic. The essence of romantic love is the passionate affection one has for the other, and your preferences or hobbies don’t decide if you are capable of feeling that heavenly feeling.
If it wasn’t for football, Sudeshna Mallick and Raktim Ghosh, probably wouldn’t be together!
They first met when they were only fourteen. It was an extra tuition class for her and she was studying with his batch. The class contained eleven students and out of all the people, she sat near him. Was she destined for this?
Now when she thinks about it, it feels surreal. If she had known that the person sitting right on the opposite side of the table, would go on and mean the world to her in the future, then she wouldn’t have waited eight months to make him hers. All hers!
They were part of the same ‘Real Madrid’ fan club. They fell in love with each other between all the waiting for weekends, just so they could have a heart-to-heart football conversation, and staying up all night celebrating a win or crying about a defeat.
Amidst all this; she saw a man in him, who cared for her, respected her boundaries, never underestimated her and always had her back. Through a series of life-changing events, they stood by each other. And this is how they realized that they wanted to go all the way together.
Now, even after five years down the lane, their love remains the same.
This amorphous concept may take some time to settle in, but we are brought up on this idea of romantic love. We might trip and stumble a little but in the end, we will find our way to it.
