We have some news for the world. Guess who has been named the highest earning DJ in the world? YES, It’s Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend, Calvin Harris! The Scottish DJ is now the richest DJ for the fourth year in a row.
The Scottish hitmaker had a $3 million dip in his yearly income and still made an estimated $63 million in pre-tax earnings. And on top of that, his Las Vegas residency nets him a crazy $400,000 per show.
This means that Harris has left Tiesto in second place with $38 million. And in third place it’s French DJ David Guetta, who like Calvin has a residency in LA, with $28 million in part to scoring the 2016 Euro theme song. Making it to the top five were Zedd, with $24.5 million and Steve Aoki with $23.5 million.
The awesome DJ, Calvin Harris, also has a money-spinning endorsement deal with brand Emporio Armani, as he models the label’s underwear.
Although, he is yet to release his fifth album, Harris has kept fans amused with new material collaborating with different popular singers. He has also been the main act for a series of other concerts outside his Vegas residency, for instance the Wireless Festival in London.
Tiesto, on the other hand, has played more than a 100 shows over the past year and has signed an endorsement deal with 7-Up, earning an probable seven-figure pay cheque.
Although the DJs obtained their places on the top 10 list, the EDM business may not be as profitable as it used to be. Forbes disclosed that the highest earning DJs on their 2016 list have together drawn in $270.5m but that number is down 1% on the year prior to this.
