26 years old TV presenter, Ferne McCann, got emotional as she disclosed about her new nose LIVE on This Morning. The star revealed how she had been bullied since her childhood years due to the irregular shape of her nose which knocked her confidence down to zero.
On Monday, This Morning’s showbiz reporter broke down into tears as she told hosts, Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, about her tough journey and the events that led her to make the final decision. McCann revealed how a long-term insecurity and trolls forced her to take the difficult step.
“The names started when I went to secondary school,” McCann said. “Boys started calling me goose and it planted a seed. Later, Twitter trolls rubbed salt in the wound.” McCann got emotional after she revealed that she had been bullied since the age of 12.
McCann further claimed that she did not go through the whole surgical process in order to look beautiful, but just to regain her confidence. The star said that it was something she did not like when she looked into the mirror, which was why she underwent the surgery.
26 years old TV presenter said: “I just wanted something subtle. I didn’t want a big change. I was teased in school about my nose and I thought it was taking over my face.” She added: “From the front, it looks similar to how it did before so there hasn’t been much to get used to, but it is different from the side profile.”
In a very honest and happy account, the emotional star claimed that although she seems confident and louder from the outside, but the experience really ‘fazed’ her from the inside. She was afraid of her mum’s reaction, who luckily understands McCann now as the only thing she wants is her daughter to be happier.
Before the show ended, McCann told the host that there will be people who’ll understand her decision and a lot of more who won’t. However, most of the online users supported McCann’s decision by claiming that she looks incredible.
