Today’s love story on How We Met teaches us the difference between hard luck and right timings. Here it goes:
Rhea Ghosh was always fighting against her stars when it came to relationships. There was a point of time in her life when she started feeling she had been cursed and it was some sort of deep-rooted karma which was playing foul games on her love life.
She started distrusting guys in general, all the while thinking that they are good for nothing except their big talk. Yes, she did date, but never could she believe anyone completely. After a particular incident in her life, she couldn’t trust any guy, no matter how hard she tried. Maybe it was her defense mechanism, something to keep her from getting hurt again.
They say that your partner is your mirror image, but she used to drive people away the minute she used to realize that things were getting too serious, afraid of being too involved.
It was until February 2015 when her life changed – the time when she finally said her goodbyes to the long seeping insecurities. She was attending a wedding reception of her colleague. There, she met Shouryadeep. He was a descent boy, assisting the family members at the occasion, loitering around, frolicking with friends.
She had an instant urge to know about him. To her utter disappointment, it turned out that he was already dating her colleague’s sister. Disappointed as she was, she tried to free her mind from the idea of him, but in vain.
Quite improper it was, but she started comparing herself and her fate with her colleague’s sister, lamenting in her heart about her rotten luck.
They met for two consecutive days and, naturally, interacted with each other. He was quite friendly with her, which made her really comfortable around him.
As soon as the wedding ended, all the more depression surrounded her. After a couple of days, she got a friend request from him. They started with preliminary greetings and small talks.
It went on for quite some days but she started feeling guilty with her sense of happiness. Deep down inside, she was certain that nothing was going to happen between them and the petty conversation seemed futile to her.
One day, the blunt self that she is, she asked him about his relationship and also that why was he wasting his time with her. He took his time but he eventually told her that he had broken up. Her colleague later confirmed this news. She later got in touch with him and professed her liking for him.
They have been together ever since. Shourya and Rhea have never questioned each other’s past, though both of them are fully aware of it. And it worked as a miracle for them. They are now planning to get married. We wish them the best of luck!
