Today’s love story on How We Met is about the beauty of romance at workplace. Here it goes:
Did you ever find yourself or a friend of yours spending longer hours in the office than they used to? It should not come as a surprise to you that they might have found romance in the office!
Some people consider office romance morally wrong and, hence, generalized rules are made against dating in the workplace. However, many are of the opinion that it should be allowed because given the amount of time that we spend at work, office seems like the most logical venue to find romance!
Neha, like many other people in this world, found her crush, Krishna, in her office. He used to sit only a seat away from her at work, and she used to avail every chance to talk to the person sitting between them in order to steal a glance at Krishna, though they never talked directly.
After almost a year, they were asked to travel together for a business trip. She could barely believe her luck! She searched her wardrobe for hours, trying to find the best dress to woo him.
Spending hours in front of the mirror to look perfect just to pay a visit to a ruined site seemed a little silly and over the top to her. But she didn’t want to let go of any chance to gain his attention!
Another year passed and they were still not as close as she wanted them to be. And then one day, she decided to take charge. She wasn’t some sensitive and delicate girl from the 60’s, she told herself. She decided to act like a strong independent woman as she had been taught to be, and to take the first step.
She took out her phone and sent him a message saying, ‘Krishna’. Oddly enough, he replied instantly, asking her out on a movie. She was surprised but, of course, happy!
As days went by, talking, working and traveling together brought them really close. And then one day, they finally decided to take their relationship to the next level and agreed to get married.
They have been together ever since. Even though attitudes towards office romance differ widely, but this couple has proved that it can work fine as long as you develop a respectful relationship before dating. Making small conversations, handling each other’s stressed moods and helping each other with daily work sometimes really can be the best way to get to know someone!
