She has not just left many co-workers behind in the industry, but her paycheck has also made news two years in a row. Any guesses on who we are talking about? It’s none other than our favorite actress Jennifer Lawrence. The beautiful artist has been specified as the best paid female in movies for the second time.
Forbes released a statement that showed that Jennifer earned almost $46 million in 2015. Initially her earning were dropping by 11.5% but as her movie The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 was released, she was able to earn $653.4 million from the box office. Jennifer is the youngest celebrity on the list of Forbes to have earned so much.
Up next in the list is Melissa McCarthy, whose income has risen by 43.5% due to her role in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters’ reboot. Looking at the history, Melissa has earned $10 million more than what she earned in 2015. Last year, she was named as the 3rd highest paid female artist of Hollywood.
Moving forward, the third place has been taken up by Scarlett Johansson, this year. She has earned a total of $25 million, which comes from her work in Marvel’s Avengers movie as Black widow. A survey was carried out by Mojo, the industry’s analysis website of the box office. According to its record, Scarlett was regarded as the “US’s highest grossing female film artist of all times”, though she lost her second position in Forbes list, this year.
Carrying on with the list, Jennifer Aniston earned $21 million in the year, with her income increasing by 27.3% from last year. She has always been lucky to find herself in the top 5 of the list.
Charlize Theron earned $16.5 million because of her role in Max Mad: Fury Road while Amy Adams gained $13.5 million this year. It was shocking that big names like Sandra Bullock and Angelina Jolie could not make it to the top 10 this year. As in 2014, Sandra was on top of the list while Angelina was the leader on the board in 2013.
But the war of words has started again following the release of the list. It is because the male artists in the industry have always been paid more than the female artists. The female artists feel discriminated and want a solution for such a behavior of Hollywood.
