Melbourne street artist covered his controversial swimsuit-clad Hillary Clinton mural into a beautiful Muslim woman wrapped into a burqa after decency objections.
A Melbourne street artist named, Lushsux, was threatened with a heavy fine by the Maribyrnong council after he painted a controversial mural of Hillary Clinton. The provocative painting showed the U.S. presidential candidate in a colorful two-piece bikini with $100 notes wedged into it.
This is no longer a wall of a supposed “offensive and near naked” Hillary Clinton, a beautiful Muslim woman. pic.twitter.com/M7Uzr4gqBC

The original mural was painted onto the side wall of a scooter shop in Footscray, which is 5 Km west of Melbourne. However, after receiving decency complaints and fine threats from the council, the innovative painter has now transformed the revealing mural of Hillary Clinton into a fully covered Muslim woman.

Maribyrnong Council had requested the artist to remove the offensive painting within 10 days otherwise serious action would be taken against him. The council also released a statement which claimed that the mural is not only offensive but also disobeys the policy of gender equity.

The chief executive of the council, Mr. Stephen said: “We believe that this mural is offensive because of the depiction of a near-naked woman, not on the basis of disrespect to Hillary Clinton, and it is not in keeping with our stance on gender equity”
However, instead of removing the whole mural, Lushsux found a better way; he just wrapped the provocative painting into a black veil which only shows Clinton’s eyes from the niqab.
Lushsux is famous for painting naked murals of eminent celebrities. The artist previously painted a naked mural of Donald Trump and his wife in Melbourne.
Decided to censor my work now as not to cause any offence. pic.twitter.com/Q8awqqjsUj

The ground-breaking artist took no time to share the picture of his newly veiled Clinton’s mural on Facebook. He captioned his post by writing:
“This is no longer a wall of a supposed offensive and near naked Hillary Clinton; it is now a depiction of a beautiful Muslim woman. No reasonable person would consider this offensive. If you do consider it offensive you are a sexist, racist, Islamophobic, xenophobic, uncultured and ignorant bigot.”
